Mont-Pèlerin

Mont-Pèlerin ("Pilgrim Mountain") - is a part of the Chardonnay commune, one of the 10 communes of the Vevey district.

If you look on the mountain from the lake side, you will see the wine yards everywhere, spreading from the lake shore to the top of the mountain. On the top of that mountain there is a picturesque slope, the place, where hundreds of people are dreaming to built a house with the magnificent view on the lake and on the Alps. The highest point of the mountain is 1081 meters.

But not only the unforgettable view attracts the observer, infinity of the wine yards all over the place adds to the gracefulness of the scene. This is a God blessed place visited by many world famous people to draw there inspiration and new ideas.

You can get from Vevey to Mont-Pelerin by funicular, which was founded in 1900 and can raise you from the 393 meters up to the 807 meters, covering 1584 meters of the route. The maximum point of the slope attains 54 degrees. All of the cable cars in service on this specific line are unique because of the four- level compartment done due to the angle of the slope.
10 minutes of the journey on the funicular and you will find yourself in the tranquility and peace surrounded by picturesque landscape.

The only one in Switzerland, TV tower with panoramic deck, is situated here at a height of 64.3 meters.

You can get to this altitude (1145 meters above sea level) only by a panoramic elevator. On a pleasant sunny day, when the air is as pure as crystal, you will get a magnificent view on the lake, Savoy Alps and the northern part of the country,coming to the foot of the Jura Mountain.

Total height of the tower is 122.6 m, it is used as well as an antenna for telecommunications between the Swiss cities.

After you journey up to the sky you can relax and have lunch in the Défiran bar.
