Gassin - Saint-Tropez
Gassin is situated in the middle of the St. Tropez peninsula, perched high up on a rock and less than 4km from the sea.
The village has kept its old winding streets and ancient houses. Its location is really quite exceptional overlooking vineyards, woods and the gulf of St. Tropez.
From the top of the ramparts there is a magnificent view that extends from the Iles D'Or over the Maures Mountains and all the way to the snowy peaks ot the Alps.
On the coast the Port Gassin is growing and emulating other ports ot the same kind such as Port Grimaud and the marina of Cogolin.
Gassin is situated at 9 km from the international tourist mecca Saint-Tropez.
In Saint-Tropez everything is famous: beaches - Bouillabaisse Beach, Caneliers Beach, Salins Beach; there are at least 40 on the peninsula.
Saint-Tropez became "St. Trop" when the show business people, artists and writers all fell under the spell of this charming little port in the 1950's.
