Negresco 5*, Nice
The Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais on the Baie des Anges in Nice, France was named for Henri Negresco (1868–1920) who had the palatial hotel constructed in 1912. In keeping with the conventions of the times, when the Negresco first opened in 1913 its front opened facing the Mediterranean sea.
Born out of Henri Negresco’s imagination in 1912, the Negresco, hotel-museum and pearl of French hotel hospitality, will soon be celebrating its centenary. In 1912 when the hotel opened, it was equipped with the most modern facilities of the time: steam autoclave, electric commutator, tube system for mail distribution to the guestrooms. In 2010, the most innovative home-automated technology has been put into service on the 5th floor. The 5th floor is entirely privatized with independent lift service and lounge space with bar combining tradition and technology, comfort and measured luxury.
The decoration of each one of our 94 guestrooms and 31 suites has been inspired by the most outstanding periods of French art and history. Rooms have been individually decorated to reflect styles as different as Louis XIII and art deco. Madame Augier designs the rooms and her team of workmen and specialist craftsmen see that her ideas become reality. The most recent technology has not been forgotten.
Restaurants: "La Rotonde" - in the convivial atmosphere of this Pompadour carrousel décor with its painted wooden horses, the chef proposes A la Carte local specialities; "The Chantecler" - one of the best restaurants in Nice. Michelin Guide award winning, with a dining room Regency style decoration with magnificent XVIII century woodwork; "Le Relais" - English-style bar, you will discover a large selection of champagnes, whiskies and original cocktails.
